In 1998, Sue and I left Perth and took off on a camping holiday in our Nissan Patrol 4WD. We left Perth in early June and returned in October, were on the road for a total of 91 days and travelled approximately 20,000kms. We pitched a tent 76 times, and travelled through some of the most amazing country. Sites we visited included:
- Mitchell Falls, off the Gibb River Road (WA)
- Purnululu (Bungle Bungle) NP (WA)
- Litchfield NP (NT)
- Lawn Hill NP (Qld)
- Whitsunday Islands (Qld)
- Daintree Rainforest (Qld)
- Uluru (Ayers Rock) (NT)
- Mac Donnell Ranges (NT)
The map below gives the approximate route we travelled:
